Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Tanel Website Studio collects when you use this website, what we do with it, and who else touches it. "We" means Ryan Tanel, doing business as Tanel Website Studio, based in Austin, Texas.
What We Collect
We collect only what you give us, plus a few technical details when you visit.
- Free website audit: the website address you enter, then your email address. If you use the follow-up form, your first name, last name and phone number.
- Contact form: your first name, last name, phone number, email address and message.
- Technical details: your internet address and the pages you visit, used to block abuse, limit how often one person can run the audit, and measure visits.
How the Free Audit Works
When you enter a website address, we load that website's public pages. We crawl up to 50 of them and follow the site's robots.txt file, which tells crawlers what to skip.
We send public page content and a screenshot of the homepage to Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI, for a second read of what we found. We use Google PageSpeed Insights to measure how fast the site loads, and Google Places to see how it shows up in local search.
We email you the finished report through Brevo, our email service. We do not send private or logged-in pages anywhere, because we never log in to your website.
How We Use Your Information
- To run your audit and email you the report.
- To reply to your contact form message and to follow up on your audit.
- To send you emails about our work. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we stop when you use it.
- To keep the site secure and fix problems.
When you enter your email for the audit, we add you to our email list on Brevo and send Ryan a notice with your email address and website.
Who Else Handles It
These companies process information for us. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and stores audit records. Its Turnstile tool checks that a form is filled in by a person, not a robot.
- Brevo stores our email list and contact form messages, and sends our email.
- Anthropic reads the public page content and homepage screenshot from your audit.
- Google runs the speed and local search measurements, and provides our analytics.
How Long We Keep It
Audit records, including the crawl results, the report and the link between your email and your audit, are stored in Cloudflare and deleted automatically after 7 days. A record of a failed audit is kept for 30 days. A note that you ran an audit is kept for 1 to 2 days to limit repeat use.
Your name, email address, phone number and any message stay in Brevo until you ask us to delete them or you unsubscribe and ask us to remove you. We also keep a copy of the notice emails sent to Ryan in his inbox.
Cookies and Analytics
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to measure visits. They set cookies in your browser that count visitors, show which pages people read and show how they found us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works without them. Google also offers a browser add-on that turns off Google Analytics.
Cloudflare Turnstile may also run a short check in your browser when you use a form.
Your Choices
- Ask what we have about you, and we will send it.
- Ask us to correct or delete it, and we will.
- Unsubscribe from marketing email with the link at the bottom of any email.
Email [email protected] to make a request. We reply within a reasonable time, and we may need to confirm it is really you first.
Children
This site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
